Rotation Tournaments

If you want to register for the tournament, you must log in to your account!

Warning: You are not logged in to your account. You can log in here.

I invite you to participate in testing the principle of operation of the Doubles Rotation Tournament. This is only a virtual tournament without actual play on the tennis court.

Since the player database was not yet large enough, several accounts of well-known tennis players were automatically created for testing purposes.

Be sure to try these steps during testing:
  1. Close player registration (use the hyperlink below).
  2. Save the results of individual drawn games
  3. Close the tournament to announce the winner.

You can enter the tournament using this link: Log in/Log out from the tournament.

→ Name and type, number of courts
VariableValue
The name of the tournament can be edited here.
Number of courts available for the tournament.
You can change the tournament type here, if the tournament hasn't started yet.
→ Match result options
VariableValue
Maximum sum of games in a match:
  • Select no limit for non-tennis counting games, e.g. for ping pong.
  • If you want to play a set according to the standard count in tennis with the possibility of a tiebreak, choose 13 (regular game).
After the end of the entire tournament round, show the offer, what to do next?
  1. No, do not announce the end of the round.
  2. Yes, but don't consider the service.
  3. Yes, and ensure service rotation.
This option is valid only if Maximum sum of games in a match is not equal to No limit or Regular game.
Setting possible match results:
(example for Maximum number of games in a match = 5)
  1. Basic settings according to the parameter Maximum number of games in a match.
    For example (5:0, 4:1, 3:2)
  2. If it is no longer possible to win a match, this option allows for the possibility of an early termination. For example, in a game played up to 5 sets, the match can be concluded even if the current score is 3:0.
    For example (5:0, 4:1, 3:2, 3:1, 3:0)
  3. The game can only be ended with a lead of 2 games. For example, a 5-game match ends at 4:1, but continues if the current score is 3:2. However, it ends at 4:2 or 4:3 (ended in a tiebreak).
    For example (5:3, 4:2, 4:1, 5:0)
  4. The game can only be ended when the lead is not only 2 games, but also prematurely, when the match can no longer be won.
    For example (5:3, 4:2, 4:1, 4:0, 5:0)
→ Player rights
VariableValue
This option determines whether player names will be displayed in full or if they will be obfuscated to protect personal data.
Maximum number of registered players.
Can players independently enter game results?
Can a player who is currently suspended be declared the winner?
→ Special group of players
VariableValue
The winner of the tournament will be:
  1. 1 outside the special group
  2. 1 of all players
  3. 2 separately (1 from the special group and 1 outside the special group)
Skip matches where 2 players would play together in a special group?
Skip matches where 2 non-special group players would play together?
→ Other settings
VariableValue
When enough players are available:
  1. Wait to draw until all matches have been played.
  2. Draw a next match immediately. This option reduces variability.
After the tournament closes, allow a final match to determine the best pair?
Show control over the paid entry fee?

Help ...

Rules for the Doubles Rotation Tournament can be found on a separate page.

View the help video in an external window.

This standalone page will guide you through the entire tournament in all of the following consecutive stages:

  1. Create a new tournament
    • The creator of the tournament becomes its organizer. Only the organizer has the right to close the registration and the tournament.
    • Individual players sign up (or withdraw) in the list of available tournaments separately.
    • Click on the tournament name to view its details.
  2. Editing tournament parameters
    • The total number of games in a match determines its duration. For example, if you choose 5, the match result can be 0:5, 1:4, 2:3, 3:2, 4:1, and 5:0.
    • You have the option to choose whether player names will be displayed in a shortened form to avoid disclosing sensitive information.
    • The Minimum Playing Players parameter determines the minimum number of players required to proceed to the next match. A higher number provides more variability but may also slow down the progress of the tournament.
    • The website administrator can add an invitation to the tournament, which will be displayed through a newly created post.
    • The tournament organizer can grant organizer rights to another player.
  3. Adding players and adding them to a special group
    • Adding players from the database can be restricted to the website administrator.
    • Adding to a special group will colorfully alert the player to the pre-agreed method of handling the special group. This can only be done by the match organizer.
    • In the tournament settings, you can enable the possibility to track the payment of the entry fee.
    • Players can withdraw from the tournament on their own, or the match organizer can remove them from the match.
  4. The closing of player registration
    • Only the tournament organizer can close the player registration.
  5. Match scheduling and result entry
    • Once the player registration is closed, the scheduling of the first matches will be displayed.
    • The serving starts with the player at position R1.
    • The number of matches scheduled depends on the chosen number of courts and the number of players.
    • Only players participating in the match and the tournament organizer can enter match results.
    • The option to hide a match is used only when, for example, one of the players is currently unavailable. This leads to the scheduling of another match, and this hidden match is not counted in the tournament results.
    • Each of the players can suspend their participation in the tournament. After that, the player will not be assigned to matches. Suspension of participation in the tournament can also be done by the administrator.
    • In the list of played matches, the organizer can make corrections in case of incorrectly entered results.
    • In the table of registered players, the players with the best results are displayed at the top.
  6. Closing the tournament and announcing the winner.
    • Only the tournament organizer has the right to close the tournament. After closing, it is no longer possible to enter results or make edits.
    • After the tournament is closed, the winner of the tournament with the best ratio of games won to losses will be highlighted in color in the table of registered players.
  7. Presentation of the interim results of the tournament.
    • You can start a presentation of the tournament on your computer screen, giving everyone the opportunity to easily get an overview of the progress of the tournament. Turn on full screen mode (F11) in the browser.
If you log in, you can start the presentation of the selected tournament.
